Advent Retreat 2020
As Christmas draws near, in a year when family gatherings may be very different from what we are used to, all of us may struggle to find meaning in this chaos. Perhaps this may help: When God came into our world, it could have been in any number of ways: a world tour, a celestial spectacle, an appearance in Rome, on and on. What God did was far more mundane, but quite wonderful: God created a family. By reflecting on what Scripture tells us about that family, we will discover something that you may have never considered:
How Jesus’ Family Is Just Like Yours
We will gather (virtually) on Friday evening, 11 December, 3:30-9:00 p.m.*, and continue Saturday, 12 December, 8:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m.* for a series of conferences, times for quiet reflection, times for prayer. There will also be opportunities for spiritual direction. Your experience of these few hours will be enriched if you are able to create a “retreat space” that is, as much as possible, quiet and free of distractions. Turn off the cell phone, be still – and give God a chance to gift you, and your family, during these Advent days.
*Please note these times are Eastern time
