Certificate in Facilitating Ignatian Directed Retreats
This training is designed for experienced spiritual directors and will be held via Zoom on the following dates:
January 22, 2025 (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
February 5, 2025 and February 19, 2025 (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
March 5, 2025 and March 19, 2025 (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
This program facilitates continuing education and training in the specific areas of offering Ignatian Silent Directed Retreats and hands-on experiences by providing:
- Personal growth and formation in the art of prayer guidance according to St. Ignatius
- Knowledge and reflection exercises related to Formation Science
- Developing and adapting resources according to dynamic of directed retreats
- Practica and supervision in directing an Ignatian Silent DirectedRetreat
- Discernment of one’s call to offering Ignatian Silent Directed Retreats.
This program is available to laity, religious, and clergy of all faith traditions. It will consist of lectures, required reading, ethics, and individual supervision.
Prerequisites for program:
- Completion of the full exercises of St. Ignatius (either 30-day or 19th Annotation Retreat in Daily Life as an individual)
- Receive ongoing spiritual direction
- Hold a certificate in spiritual direction training from a qualified program
- Have 3 – 5 years of experience offering spiritual direction
- Receive individual ongoing supervision
- Active participation in all class discussions
- Virtual interview with facilitator prior to acceptance
Tuition: $1,500 which includes individual supervision for the two required directed retreats. WVIS offers a 50% discount if the two required retreats are done at WVIS.
